As we approach the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children this November 25 until 10 December, Claire Phillips has one desire for all victims of sexual abuse, to come out and speak your truth. As a rape survivor, Claire knows all too well the stranglehold silence had on discovering her true identity. Gender Based Violence Against Women and Children is ubiquitous and impact victims in varying degrees often times resulting in unwanted pregnancies or unsafe abortions, suicide, STD, and worst of all, death.

Claire Phillips peeled through the layers of her abusive past, the self-doubt and resentment and allowed herself the time to garner the strength to find new meaning in her being and in her music.

This is Claire’s story…
