Despite lockdown restrictions, you may not be able to celebrate Fathers Day like you hoped. Taking your dad for a beer at his favourite place or treating him to nice meal at a restaurant is out of the question. So here are a few ideas you can do with him at home.
Organise a virtual party
You may not be able to see your dad or father figure this Father’s Day, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a party. With FaceTime, Skype, Zoom or even Houseparty, you could get the drinks flowing with all the family. Why not organise a fancy dress competition or host a quiz night? The options are endless, lets get creative!
Learn a new skill together
There are so many hobbies available to you to try your hand it, why not both start a project together? From DIY, to gardening, arts and crafts or baking, you can spend quality time together bonding over a new passion.
Have a picnic
If the weather is nice outside, why not have a picnic in the back yard. Lay a blanket and a spread of all his favourite foods and treats. Or fire up the Braai and enjoy the sunshine together as you take over the grill.
Set up mini golf
If he’s a golf fanatic and is yearning an 18-hole round, then get creative in the backyard! Set up a mini golf course with obstacles you can make with chairs, toilet roll and bits and pieces from the house. If its not the greatest, he’ll love you still for all the effort!
Breakfast in Bed
If you’re lucky enough to be together, start Dad’s special day with breakfast in bed. Make sure to add some biltong and chocolates and perhaps a 6 pack of his favourite drink!
Watch his favourite movies
Pull out your pillows and blankets and create a family fort in the living room. Settle in and watch your favourite family movies. Dont forget the snacks, the snacks are important!
Happy Fathers Day!
