Surrounded by ancient rock formations, Dwyka Tented Lodge at Sanbona Wildlife Reserve is a sacred, hidden place. It was once home to the San and Khoi people, and their paintings – some of which date back more than 3 500 years – can be seen at various points around the reserve. It’s around three hours drive from Cape Town but worth the trip for those seeking solitude (and the most dazzling array of wildlife in the Western Cape).
