Western Cape Health MEC, Nomafrench Mbombo will be in self-quarantine as a pre-caution after her close engagement with the French Consul-General in Cape Town.

Laurent Amar confirmed on Twitter that he tested positive to the coronavirus.

Mbombo says she’s met with Amar more than three times over the past few weeks.

She will be monitoring herself for any symptoms – such as a cough or fever – whilst working full-time from home.

Meanwhile, Premier Alan Winde says he’s taken advice from medical experts to also work from home, as a pre-caution.

This follows his exposure to MEC Mbombo during a media briefing yesterday.

Winde says he’s been advised not to self-quarantine or get tested at this stage.
