Western Cape Education MEC, Debbie Schäfer is urging all eligible matriculants to get their COVID-19 jabs before the start of the final exams.

The exams start on Wednesday the 27th of October.

Education authorities say this week is an ideal opportunity for learners to get their jabs in order to be partial immune ahead of the exams.

More than 74,000 pupils including both part-time and full candidates will be sitting for this year’s exams in the Cape.

Schäfer is appealing to learners to continue adhering to safety regulations.

“ I urge all Grade 12 learners to follow the  COVID-19 safety protocols diligently as we count down to the exams.  You have put so much work into your school career and this is the last stretch. You don’t want to get ill at the final hurdle and risk missing some of your exams. Please follow the golden rules at all time and take responsibility for keeping yourself and others safe”.
