Western Cape dam levels remain stable as we head into the summer holidays.
They have dropped slightly by 0.8% over the past week.
And they’re now standing at 81.3% full.
The dams supplying the City of Cape Town with drinking water have also decreased to 98.8%.
But the good news is that the South African Weather Services predicts some rainfall from Wednesday.
Spokesperson for the department of Local Government, James-Brent Styan, says local dams are in a good shape.
“We’ve had two seasons of good rainfall and we are fortunate to be heading into the holiday season with our major dams so full. This doesn’t mean we can get complacent and indeed we continue to urge users to use water responsibly on a permanent basis”.
