On Friday, 16 October 2020, volunteers from Simba, Engen, The Institute of Risk Management South Africa and others will join FoodForward SA to commemorate World Food Day.
World Food Day promotes global awareness and action for those who suffer from hunger and for the need to ensure healthy diets for all.
In August, Statistics South Africa reported that the number of unemployed persons in SA had increased to 7.1 million in the first three months of the year and projected that the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is going to leave about 50% of the population at risk of being food insecure.
