Cape Town health authorities have praised the thousands of nurses still on the frontline of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Today marks International Nurses Day.
Western Cape Health MEC Dr Nomafrrench Mbombo will celebrate the day in Cape Town – at the Western Cape College of Nurses.
The City says it has made progress with the vaccination rollout – and immunised approximately 76% of its health staff so far.
Mayco Member for Health, Zahid Badroodien, says the public needs to honour nurses by complying with covid-19 protocols at all times.
“Nurses are the largest part of our healthcare profession and have been at the frontline of the Covid-19 pandemic. They continue to provide life-saving services to our most vulnerable communities and show continued commitment despite their own fears and anxieties”.
