
The Western Cape recorded 41 more Covid-19 deaths, bringing the total number to 562.
The province now has recorded 23, 583 positive infections, and 12, 436 people have recovered.
This indicates that the province has 10,097 active cases.
Of the active cases, 992 people are in hospital, with 178 either in ICU or high care.
Currently there’re 35,812 confirmed cases in the country.
The Western Cape accounts for more than 65 % of the total number of the cases.
Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize, however says he’s satisfied with the Western Cape’s Covid19 response plan and has urged all sectors to drive home the message of responsible behaviour.
