The Western Cape is edging towards administering its 4 millionth Covid-19 vaccination.
On Tuesday, the total was just a few jabs shy of 3 912 000 doses administered.
Authorities had hoped to be have even more than that number already.
But the nationally-driven vooma vaccination drive, over the past weekend, saw only about 14,000 people coming forward to get vaccinated.
The number includes everyone aged 12 and older.
A total of 85 vaccination sites were operational across the province for the campaign.
The spokesperson for the provincial department of Health, Mark van der Heever says they hope to see the uptake increase through the province’s ongoing pop-up vaccination site programme.
