The Western Cape currently has less than 2 000 active Coronavirus cases.

In the latest stats revealed by the provincial government on Wednesday, there are 1 906 active cases across the province.

724 of those patients are in hospital with 145 in ICU or high care.

12 more people have succumbed to the virus since Monday’s update, taking the province’s total death toll to 11, 601.

Premier Alan Winde has also launched the Western Cape Government’s multi-sectoral emergency response plan to reduce the spread of Tuberculosis in the province.
