The number of Coronavirus deaths in South Africa has jumped up to 54, with 3,158 confirmed cases.
That’s according to the latest statement released by National Health Minister, Zweli Mkhize, on Sunday night.
There are 17 deaths in the Western Cape, and the latest casualty is a 45 year old man.
A total of 868 Covid19 cases have been recorded in the province.
The number of people hospitalised has increased to 38, while the number of patients in ICU stands at 12.
Premier Alan Winde, is urging residents to continue to practise good hygiene habits.
