
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the Western Cape has risen to 370.
The City of Cape Town has the highest number in the province, with 305.
It’s followed by the Garden Route with 30, and the Cape Winelands with 22 confirmed cases.
There are currently 16 patients in hospital, with four being treated in ICU.
Premier Alan Winde says the tracing teams are working quickly identify close contacts.
“We currently have 20 people whom we have placed into isolation facilities, where they are receiving appropriate care. We acknowledge that for some, self-isolation will not always be possible and we are working to identify additional facilities to be used as quarantine and isolation sites across the province”.
Meanwhile, nationally, there are 1,380 confirmed cases in South Africa with 5 people succumbing to the disease.
