The Democratic Alliance’s Geordin Hill-Lewis was officially elected as the new mayor of the City of Cape Town Council, on Thursday.
He was competing with the ANC’s Noluthando Makasi, and the Cape Independence Party’s Jack Miller.
Hill-Lewis, who replaces Dan Plato, received 141 votes out of 224 votes.
Here’s Council Speaker Felicity Purchase, said, “Jack Miller has received 2 votes, Noluthando Makasi 46 votes, and Jordan Hill-Lewis 141 votes. Councillor Geordin Hill-Lewis is duly elected as the mayor of the City of Cape Town”.
