Guy Fawkes happens every year in early November and the City is reminding the people of Cape Town that there will be no celebration of fireworks in a residential areas without a permit. Those people found with fireworks will be fined heavily so be warned.
The City has decided, for the second year in a row, not to provide designated fireworks sites for Guy Fawkes. The City’s JP Smith had an important statement to make…“I have been very clear in the past that this is an outdated tradition and it needs to stop. Apart from the indiscriminate discharging of fireworks that disturbs the peace and terrorises animals; the senseless violence directed at pedestrians and motorists simply can’t be condoned.”
