Over the past two week’s we’ve ask you to tell us about worthy organisations serving our youth in various communities and we’ve received so many. Usually at this time, we shut down our main studios, jump in our vehicles and hit the roads around the Western Cape to connect with communities and people in those communities who make meaningful differences.
In saying this, we received an email from Leshme De Bruyn, telling us about Valentino Stander who serves the community of Elsie’s River.
THIS IS VALENTINO’S STORY: “We live in an area where the government has not yet brought any food parcels to the people in the community. The food and parcels that gets distributed is the work of Valentino Stander. Vouchers and groceries will assist in giving him a helping hand. The people of Elsies river are helping and feeding the less fortunate areas like Leonsdale and Avonwood here in Elsies River. On a daily basis Valentino and his crew is requesting for donations to feed more people because it is very hard for them to turn away anyone if the food is not enough. Even on Mother’s Day they took groceries to the late Tazne Van Wyk’s parents. Heart fm if you guys can help in any way the people here in Elsies River will highly appreciate it.”
Our friends and partners at Spar Western Cape heard Valentino’s story and has offered their support by blessing him with a R10 000 Spar Voucher, in order to continue to feed his community.

Lockdown due to Covid-19 has intensified the difficulties many of our young people are facing. 16 Days for Youth is around the corner and we’d like you to assist. From the 1st to the 16th of June, we’ll be supporting people and projects in need across our communities.
If you know of anyone in need during this time, or aids the well-being of our youth, please send us an email to: 16Days@heartfm.co.za and nominate these people or organisations.
We also call on organisations who are mandated & authorised to hand out parcels to play a part in our delivery system.
