
South Africa’s total covid19 infections has increased to 15,515 .
This was confirmed by Health Minister, Dr Zweli Mkhize on Sunday evening.
The country recorded the biggest increase in a day with a 1,160 new cases.
Mkhize said that 7,006 people have recovered from the virus, this means there’re 8,245 active cases in the country.
Unfortunately 3 more people have at their lives to the virus in the last 24hours, bringing the death toll up to 264.
Mkhize said they’re concerned about the Western Cape which remains the epicentre of the pandemic.
” We remain concerned about the developments in the Western Cape, with the total cumulative cases now comprising almost 60% of the national cumulative cases, and the new cases from Western Cape comprising 76% of the new cases from the past 24 hour cycle,”.
