South Africa has recorded further 65 Covid-19 related deaths on Sunday, bringing the national death toll to 51 326.
The Free State had the majority of the new fatalities with 27.
It’s followed by Kwa-Zulu Natal with 20, Gauteng 12, the Western Cape 5 and the Eastern Cape 1.
The Health Department said a total of 1 006 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the past 24 hour cycle.
Authorities say over 1 4 million people have recuperated from the virus, which is a recovery rate of 95%.
Meanwhile, the Western Cape has 2 682 active cases and 11,349 people have died.
