South Africa has recorded 398 more Covid-19 related deaths on Wednesday, bringing the death to 45,344.

Kwa-Zulu Natal had the majority of the deaths, with 138.

It’s followed by Gauteng with 97, the Western Cape 67, the Eastern Cape 46, Mpumalanga 21, the Free State 12, the Northern Cape 9, and Limpopo 8.

The Health Department said 4,058 new infections were confirmed over the same period, pushing the country’s cumulative cases to 1 463 016.

The department confirmed that the recovery rate stands at 90,5%.

Meanwhile the Western Cape has 10,544 active cases and 10,437people have died.
