South Africa has recorded 213 more Covid-19 related deaths over the past 24 hour cycle.
Of the new fatalities, the Free State had the highest deaths with 64.
It’s followed by the Eastern Cape with 57, Gauteng with 39, the Western Cape with 30, KwaZulu Natal with 11, Mpumalanga with 10, and 2 from the Northern Cape.
The national death toll stands at 10,621.
The Health Department says more than 3,700 new infections were confirmed in the same period.
The cumulative number of confirmed cases is at 563 598.
Authorities say 417 200 people have beaten the virus, which translates to the recovery rate of 74%.
This means the country has 135 777 active cases.
Meanwhile the Western Cape has 8,371 active cases and 3,424 people have died.
