South Africa has recorded 213 more Covid-19 related deaths on Sunday, bringing the national death toll to 8,366.

Of the new fatalities, the Free State had the highest deaths with 51.

It’s followed by the Western Cape with 43, Gauteng with 40, KwaZulu Natal with 31, the Eastern Cape with 25, and Limpopo with 23.

The Health Department says a total of 8,195 new infections were confirmed over the past 24 hour cycle.

The country’s cumulative number of confirmed case now stands at 511 485.

Meanwhile, a total of 347 227 people have recovered so far.

This means that the country has 155 892 active cases.

Meanwhile the Western Cape has 10,630 active cases and 3,105 people have died.
