South Africa has recorded 113 Covid-19 related deaths on Sunday, bringing the national death toll to 49 053.
North West had recorded the most of the new fatalities, with 69.
It’s followed by Gauteng with 17, the Free State 12, the Western Cape 10, the Eastern Cape 2, the Northern Cape 2, and Kwa-Zulu Natal 1.
The Health Department says 1 429 new infections have been confirmed over the same period.
This pushes the number of cumulative cases in the country to 1 503 796.
South Africa’s recovery rate stands at 93.8%.
Meanwhile the Western Cape has 4 675 active cases and 11,034 people have died.
