Pre Cape Town Cycle tour, the show producers attended a launch on Friday evening, of the newest cycling team at the Velokhaya Cycling academy. Sipho Mona, the General Manager of The Velokhaya Life Cycling Academy, joins us on the show to tell us about this extraordinary programme.
About Velokhaya:
Established as a non-profit organisation in 2004 to develop youth through Education and Sport. Velokhaya has over 200 registered youths between the ages 7-25years. Velokhaya since inception has impacted the lives of over 10 000 youth through the programs it runs free of charge. Velokhaya is based in Khayelitsha, Cape Town where its facilities include a BMX track, state of the art ICT Centre, Library, bicycle mechanic workshop, gymnasium, fully fledged kitchen/feeding scheme and recreational space for after school activities.
