Public Works and Infrastructure Minister, Patricia de Lille has tested positive for Covid-19.

The former Cape Town Mayor, made the announcement on Sunday morning.

De Lille says she took a test on Friday the 4th of June, after showing some symptoms.

De Lille spokesperson Zara Nicholson, says the Minister is in self-quarantine. She has also informed those who have come in contact with her to do the same.

Nicholson said “ The Minister said as the country enters the third wave of the pandemic, she called on all South Africans not to let their guard down. They must keep wearing masks correctly, covering nose and mouth. They must wash and sanitise their hands regularly”.
