Western Cape Premier Alan Winde has appealed to businesses in the personal care industry to adhere to Covid19 health and safety guidelines.

Some hairdressers, beauticians, and barbers have re-opened over the weekend after President Cyril Ramaphosa relaxed some of the Lockdown Level 3 restrictions.

The sector has not been operating since the lockdown started late in March 2020, in bid to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

The province has over 13,444 active cases and 1,500 people have succumbed to the virus.

Winde says we’re still in the midst of a pandemic; so businesses owners and customers must act responsibly.

“More sectors will also be coming online soon and I would like to make an appeal to these businesses to always act with the best interests of their clientele and their staff at heart and abide by the restrictions and regulations put in place to ensure maximum safety”.
