Junior School Music Teacher at St Joseph’s Marist College, Leah Joy, shares with us her first original song, played for the first time on radio. She joins us on the show…

A performing artist, vocal & choir trainer and devoted advocate for music education, Leah Adams began her musical journey at Bergvliet High School. Her burning passion for music led her to study at the South African College of Music, UCT, specialising in Jazz Performance under the guidance of Amanda Tiffin.

Currently a Junior School Music Teacher at St Joseph’s Marist College, Leah’s unique approach to teaching integrates music and technology so her learners get to have a memorable and unique learning experience. Not limiting herself to just the classroom, Leah performs regularly on the Cape Town Jazz circuit and has shared the stage with many local and international artists such as Zolani Mahola, Loyiso Bala, Karen Zoid and Josh Groban to name a few.

Leah is one of the members of Anecnote, a South African acapella group best known for winning South Africa’s Got Talent in2017. She released her first single in November, 2020 and plans to record her first EP in 2021.

The song is called ‘Come Find Me’ and is available on all digital platforms. Have a listen to the interview with Aden and Leah here
