More than 70 new Covid-19 vaccine sites will open across the Western Cape.
This is part of the province’s scaled-up approach to open additional sites every week, as the number of shots given daily increases.
68 more public and four private vaccinations sites will be operating from today.
Last week, the department exceeded its target number of 30,000 vaccines administered.
Head of Health, Dr Keith Cloete, says they hope to double that number this week.
“Our target this week is 60,000 and we also try to exceed that target. The week after we hope to hit 120,000”.
