More than 600 comments have been submitted on the proposal to turn Sea Point Promenade into a pedestrian-only zone in Cape Town. This zone will start in Mouille Point and end at the Pavilion swimming pool.
The proposal comes after findings that pedestrians, alone, make up 90% of the promenade’s users. The City has recently sought public consultation, before making a final decision on the matter.
People have until the 10th of April to submit their comments on the proposal – whether in support of it or not.
The proposal and further information about the recreational use of the Sea Point Promenade are available on the City’s website at www.capetown.gov.za/haveyoursay for public comment.
