Western Cape Community Safety MEC, Albert Fritz, has welcomed the ongoing clampdown on liquor stores that contravene lockdown regulations.
During March and April, the Western Cape Liquor Authority conducted 43 investigations on matters of non-compliance.
This led to the suspension of 16 licence holders across the province.
An additional 8 cases remain under investigation, and 5 have been referred to the police.
Fritz’s spokesperson Cayla Murray is warning liquor outlets operating during lockdown to stop because they will lose their licences.
