It’s all systems go for the planned restaurants protest against the lockdown regulations on Wednesday.
The protests are set to take place between 12h00 and 14h00.
A group in Tshwane, is expected to handover a memorandum of grievances.
They’re hoping that’ll be received by President Cyril Ramaphosa, and Tourism Minister, Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane.
The industry says that a million jobs are at stake.
The Restaurant Association of South Africa says it tabled ideas before government, including limited sale of alcohol with meals, but it didn’t receive favourable response.
The association’s Wendy Alberts says they’ve received a support from Cape Town restaurants.
Alberts say they hope their actions be will heard by government.
” We certainly hope that this will be favourable and would be able to reach a solution, and a workable way for both the industry and government. We want to build a relationship”
