Over the past two week’s we’ve ask you to tell us about worthy organisations serving our youth in various communities and we’ve received so many. Usually at this time, we shut down our main studios, jump in our vehicles and hit the roads around the Western Cape to connect with communities and people in those communities who make a meaningful difference.

Home from Home have been creating a second chance at family for the last 15 years. During the COVID-19 crisis, they have been faced with many challenges including raising funds for unexpected expenses for the nearly 200 foster children in their care.

Dedicated social worker for the Home from Home Winelands and Overberg homes (Stellenbosch and Villiersdorp) Margaret Scharein, joins us on the line to give us a take on the day in the life of a social worker during the Covid-19 pandemic.
