The Western Cape Disaster Management Centre says it’s on standby for the severe adverse weather conditions.

The South African Weather Service advised of gale force winds and significant sea swells from Sunday until Monday.

Heavy down -pours are expected, which will result in localised flooding in the City, Overberg and Cape Winelands.

The South African Weather Service also predicts disruptive snowfalls leading to temporary closure of mountain passes.

The spokesperson for the provincial department of Local Government, James-Brent Styan has appealed to residents to exercise caution.
