The national department of Health says 26 more people have died from coronavirus, bringing the South Africa’s death toll to 312.
The Northern Cape has reported its first death.
While the Western Cape remains the province with the highest deaths with 187.
The department says the number of Covid-19 cases in the country has increased to 17,200 in the last 24 hours.
Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize confirmed that a total of 7,960 people have recovered from virus.
This indicates that the country has 8,928 active cases.
Mkhize added that nearly 500,000 tests have been conducted so far.
