Whether you’re a cat person, a dog person, a rabbit person or a horse person, there’s one thing all animal lovers can agree on, and that’s the fantastic work carried out by veterinarians.
Celebrate with your pet on Veterinary Day by buying them a treat or a new toy to show them how much they mean to you as you appreciate the work veterinarians do to keep pets healthy.
Life as a veterinarian is rewarding, but challenging and demanding, is the answer from most vets. To be a vet, you must have a passion for or a clinical interest in animals, have great interpersonal skills, and possess a strong work ethic.
A note from a Veterinarian
“It’s people like you and your incredible furry friends that make my job an absolute joy. You guys make the highs higher and the lows bearable. Being a veterinarian, like any career, of course has its ups and downs. There are good days, great days, quiet days and no-time-for-the-toilet busy days. There have been heartbreaking experiences I wish I could erase from my mind forever, and special moments that I grip onto tightly, hiding them away in a secret place so I can dig them up and remember what’s important when I’m feeling down.
Overall being a vet incredibly rewarding profession to be a part of, and I feel deeply grateful to have found my calling.”
Ways You Can Help
Veterinarians do a lot for you and your pet, so it’s important to show your vet how much you value his or her work.
