During level 3 regulations which kicks off from the 1st of June, those who work within the beauty industry are still not able to operate. This goes for hairdressers, nail technicians, make up artists, just to name a few. Hairdressers have taken their fight to the Western Cape High Court.

Many are confused that during the Presidents last address, he stated that places of worship would be able to open but not the beauty industry. They have tried many ways of making an income, ie selling of beauty products but this is simply not enough for them to survive.

They might only be able to operate again at level 1, which is a really long wait for most. They took to the streets and headed straight to court. Approximately 1 million people depend on the hairdressing industry, if they don’t lift the ban soon the industry could lose up to 40%.
