Here at Richfield both the wellbeing and education of the Richfield community are central pillars to our work. On the 23rd of March 2020 President Cyril Ramaphosa announced a nationwide lockdown in a bid to curb the spread of COVID-19. Richfield fully supports these measures as it protects the health of our communities.

The learning of Richfield students has not been affected by the lockdown, as we offer world-class online courses through a digital learning platform called Moodle. Lecturers are able to engage with our students in real-time through various online channels including Zoom, Skype, and Whatsapp.  We will continue to enhance and augment our online platforms.  More tools, such as virtual labs, monitoring, and collaborative technology, will be made available to students to further boost their online learning experiences.

While learning online, Richfield students have access to our eLibrary, where they will find the highest quality journals and textbooks. These resources are freely accessible to all Richfield students as they will incur zero data costs on their pre-configured Vodacom SIM cards and complimentary tablets and laptops issued upon registration.

Richfield will soon be launching free online courses as well as skills courses from as little as R199 to allow the general public to gain sought after skills that range from Social Media Marketing to Budgets and Financial reports.

Richfield is still open and functioning throughout the lockdown. This is due to our investments in all the necessary hardware and software to make distance learning a reality. Our call centres are also available as all calls have been diverted to our team who is diligently working from home. Our staff are available to remotely support students via digital media.

Continuous assessments will be made available online via Moodle The academic team has been hard at work since the announcement to ensure as little disruption to students as possible. Our students have all the resources and support to remain on course to complete their 2020 academic modules, and for those completing their studies, the chance to graduate with an accredited Richfield qualification.

Throughout the lockdown, Richfield will remain open to welcome new registrations, and offer exciting promotions for new students. New registrations stand the chance to win partial bursaries of up to R10 000, as well as contributions to stationery and study supplies. You can learn more on our website at www.richfield.ac.za .
