Day 2 – We’re out at Barons Cape Town today alongside Rise Against Hunger to help fight the battle against children going hungry in the Western Cape. The goal today was to pack 25 000 meals, and we reached our target with so many volunteers pouring in to lend their helping hands. Our day began at 10am this morning with Lunga Singama broadcasting live encouraging the public to donate non perishable foods, blankets, equipment and toys. The day only got better with families pulling through with huge amounts donations which will be distributed across various communitiees. Our team worked tirelessly to ensure that we deliver on our promise. While the adults worked, the kids got to playing on the jumping castle outside. With the kids occupied, the adults made quick work of the meals packing over 20 000 meals in a few short hours. We would like to thank our friends from Rise Against Hunger for their continuous help and support during our journey, every single year without failure.

We were in awe of a very special and heart felt contribution from Nasir Khan and his amazing Mc Donalds Cape Town team who generously donated R20 000 to the course! Mr Khan extended the pledge to other companies across the Cape to jump on board and also donate to 16 Days for Youth.
