Dam levels in the Western Cape are sitting at 54% capacity, while those providing Cape Town with drinking water are at just over 75% full.

These are much higher levels compared to last year this time in 2020, when they were just 36.7% and 54.8% respectively.

Local Government MEC, Anton Bredell is optimistic that the dam levels will improve even more as we enter the wet winter months.

The Department’s James-Brent Styan said municipalities across the province continue to prepare for winter.
