South Africa has recorded 48 more Covid-19 related deaths, bringing the national toll to 1,210.
Of the new fatalities, 37 were recorded in the Western Cap, 9 in the Eastern Cape, and 2 in KwaZulu Natal.
The Health Ministry confirmed that the number of confirmed cases has risen to 55,421.
It states that the number of people who have recovered stand at 31.050.
This indicates that there’re 22,706 active cases in the country.
The Western Cape has 12,526 active cases and 891 people have died.
The department says nearly a million tests have been conducted across the country.
