As South Africa slowly and carefully moves out of lockdown countdown, millions of South Africans are going back to work, school and other public areas. This has shown a drastic increase of Covid-19 cases. Hot spots were identified, where clusters of positive cases were found. Most of the cases in the province are among essential service workers, such as in the retail sector. These five areas were identified by the Western Cape government.
The hotspots identified so far are:
– Tygerberg
– Khayelitsha
– Klipfontein Â
– Western – Du Noon
– Southern – Hout Bay
The province has over 11 000 cases of the virus and deaths continue to rise, which is currently sitting at 235. In a positive light, 5 677 people have recovered from the virus.
