We are all deeply aware of the Coronavirus. Currently headlining every news outlet as a pandemic. The Chinese medical community has answered us. A hospital is to be being built to treat patients that either have or are suspected to have Coronavirus.
Coronavirus broke out in Wuhan, China, on 31 December 2019. Not the best New Year’s Eve kiss for the Chinese. The new hospital being constructed started on the 24th of January with diggers clearing out the ground where the hospital will lay. This new hospital is 25,000-square-metre and located in Chinese city of Wuhan. It is only fit to have the hospital where the pandemic broke out.
The Chinese health department confirms that currently there have been 304 people that have died from the coronavirus, with more than 14,000 cases in the country and beyond. Quickly spreading to the rest of the world, there are about 100 cases in another 22 countries.
The Chinese medical community have reported that the new Huoshenshan Hospital will contain about 1,000 beds. Wuhan has a population of 11 million people in it. Huoshenshan Hospital is based on Xiaotangshan Hospital, set up in Beijing to help tackle the Sars virus in 2003. The Coronavirus has surpassed the spreading of the Sars virus. There were plus minus 8,100 cases of Sars. Sars is a severe acute respiratory syndrome that broke out in 2003.
China is well known for getting things done really quickly when it comes to big buildings such as this. Take a look at the hospital in Beijing, it was built in 7 days. Huoshenshan Hospital will consist of prefabricated buildings. The prefab was brought from all over China to build the hospital in time.
