Capetonians planning to apply to host events will have to wait until the 11th of July 2021.
This as the City of Cape Town’s Events Permit Office will not be considering or issuing any event permit applications until then.
The decision is in line with lockdown level 4 regulations, which prohibit all social gatherings for the next two weeks.
The City’s JP Smith says a decision on the resumption of the process will only be made once new regulations are gazetted.
“We urge all event organisers to adhere to the adjusted alert level 4 regulations in order to ensure the safety of all. The Events Permit Office is in the process of communicating to event organisers on the City’s database”.
