Cape Town’s iconic Tweede Nuwe Jaar celebrations have been cancelled, due to the covid19 resurgence in the Western Cape.
The event was meant to take place on the 16th of this month – having been postponed from its normal date, the 2nd of January.
Kaapse Klopse Karnival Association chairperson, Muneeb Gambino says they hope they’ll able to host the event next year.
“It’s not possible to have a safe event for our people. On that basis we had to cancel the event. We hope that we’ll be able to host the event for our people in Cape Town and South Africa on the 2nd January 2022”.
