Cape Town officials say they’re ready to help City’s Events industry get back-up and running again.
As the new Alert Level 1 regulations allow for gatherings, the Metro’s events permit office is now accepting applications.
Event organisers have been reminded that they’ll still have to meet strict Covid19 -safety measures, such as having PPE, social distancing and a limited number of guests.
Safety and Security Mayco Member, JP Smith, says this sector usually contributes around R3 billion to the city’s economy:
“The Events Office has been preparing over the last two and a half months to ensure staff are ready to resume the permitting process and provide support to event organisers. It is also important to note that despite the easing of regulations, the safety of all patrons, officials and participants remains our priority”.
