The Cape Town dam levels stand at a whopping 99.5%! After much stress around day zero, will no longer be of any stress anytime soon, thank goodness! Despite everything else 2020 has thrown at the Western Cape, this year has been extremely kind to the dams.
The 100% mark – for both Cape Town in general and Theewaterskloof – could be breached within the next 24-48 hours.
The Karoo region’s water supply, in particular the agriculture sector, is however still a concern.
Provincial Local Government spokesperson, James-Brent Styan, urged residents to keep using water sparingly.
