Cape Town city bosses say recreational resorts and camp sites will open from this week.
The City says it has been inundated with enquiries from the public about the status of the sites ahead of a number of long weekends.
With some lockdown regulations still in place, these facilities will not operate at full capacity.
The City says it has introduced a number of measures to comply with Covid-19 health guidelines.
Political Head of Health and Community Services Zahid Badroodien says once the sites are opened they expect visitors to comply with the regulations.
“It’s important that our visitors do their bit to ensure that their stay is a relaxing one, but more importantly, that they remain safe. So we appeal to them to please adhere to the Covid-19 regulations in place, and to follow instructions from our staff. We have seen a dramatic decline in infections, but as has been widely publicised, resurgence is a real possibility”.
