Cape Nature says around R3.5 million  has been spent to contain February’s fire in the Jonkershoek Nature Reserve.

The fire that started on Sunday 21st of last month,  near the Hottentots Holland Nature Reserve.

And It continued burning for about two weeks.

It’s understood that around 14 000 hectares had been affected by the veldfire.

The Jonkershoek and Assegaaibosch Nature Reserves are currently closed to the public, until the end of June this year.

Cape Nature says they’re still counting the damage caused by the blaze.
