RUN WALKING? About a year ago, Aden Thomas interviewed a run walker, Reggie Hufkie, who he met at the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon. He demonstrated to the team how it’s done, we even held a mini race on the Heart FM balcony – it was quite a story.
Stefano Aracena, the chairperson of the Race Walking commission WPA, spoke to Aden and the team about the Interprovincial Race Walk Championships taking place in Cape Town at the end of the month.
Western Province Athletics will be hosting the annual ASA 50km & Interprovincial Race Walk Championships for 2018 at the Green Point Athletics Stadium on the 27 October 2018 at 6am till 1pm 28 October 2018.
The event will take place over a 1km loop at Green Point Athletics Stadium and entry is free.
There will be a variety of race walking events and distances on display, starting at 6am with the 50km Men and Women ending with the 1km Development Race for youths at 11:30.
