Basketball on the Cape Flats was the topic of conversation on Heart Breakfast. Aden Thomas spoke to co-founder of an education and sport  organisation who are focus on providing opportunities to young people. 

Nathaniel Japhta, grew up on the cape flats. He is a qualified professional and passionate about education and sport. He lived in his grandmother’s backyard in a tiny wooden structure with his loving mom and sister, like so many in Cape Town still do. He attended Heideveld High School and his daily encounters were with drug addicts and gangsters. Nathaniel graduated from the prestigious Stellenbosch University, where he studied toward his Chartered Accountant qualification.

Pro226Africa connect young people from disadvantaged communities to opportunities. SPORT. ACADEMIC. TRAINING & EMPLOYMENT. Recently they’ve also established the PRO Sport Agency. Nathaniel is a qualified as a Fiba agent (only 2 s in SA). To create opportunities abroad for young people. They have local and global partners and want to continue building more relationships to create opportunities for our kids.
