An Australian mum has taken to Facebook to express her guilt over her daughter’s very simple dinner of plain pasta and hot dogs after she ‘couldn’t be bothered’ to cook

And this made me wonder what the ultimate “can’t be bothered” meal is to give your kids for supper in the week when you just can’t take them anymore. It’s normal for children to be fussy eaters – that is, to not like the taste, shape, colour or texture of certain foods. It’s also normal for children to like something one day but dislike it the next.

We want to offer some easy recipes to throw together for the kiddies, hope this helps..

Fish finger sandwich with mayo and lettuce

Method:

Fry your fish fingers and allow them to drain. Butter two slices of bread or a roll and add some lettuce and tomato. Add your fish fingers to the sandwich, add another slice of bread and viola! Easy peasy right!

Easy chicken wraps with mayo, lettuce and tomato served with taco chips

Method:

Cook some chicken and shred. Mix shredded chicken and mayo into a bowl and add salt and pepper. Warm a wrap for 20 seconds in the microwave and then add lettuce, tomato and the shredded chicken. Roll up the wrap and serve with taco chips!

Easy Peasy Mac n Cheese

Method:

Boil your pasta in water. In a different pot bring milk, 1 tablespoon of butter, salt, pepper to a boil. Add 3 tablespoons of flour once milk is boiling and stir until thick. Add grated cheese to the sauce. Once pasta is cooked, drain and add to the sauce and viola, mac and cheese!

Cheese and chicken quesadillas

Grab two wraps, place one in a pan and add grated cheese, shredded chicken, salt and pepper and place another wrap on top. Fry until cheese has melted and you’re done!
